Day 1: Arrival in Colombo
- Land in Colombo and take the day to acclimatize, perhaps with a gentle walk along the Galle Face Green or through Viharamahadevi Park.
- Overnight in Colombo.
Day 2: Colombo to Sigiriya
- Travel to Sigiriya, settle into your accommodation, and enjoy a short trek in the nearby areas, exploring rural villages or the Pidurangala Rock for a stunning view of Sigiriya Rock Fortress at sunset.
- Overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 3: Sigiriya to Knuckles Mountain Range
- Early morning trek up Sigiriya Rock Fortress to beat the heat and crowds.
- Transfer to the Knuckles Mountain Range in the afternoon.
- Prepare for the next day’s trek with an overnight stay at a campsite or guesthouse near the Knuckles Range.
Day 4: Knuckles Mountain Range Trekking
- Spend a full day trekking in the Knuckles Mountain Range, exploring its diverse ecosystems, waterfalls, and traditional villages.
- Overnight in the same location.
Day 5: Knuckles to Kandy
- Transfer to Kandy. Use this day as a rest day with lighter activities, such as visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya.
- Overnight in Kandy.
Day 6: Kandy to Horton Plains National Park
- Travel to Horton Plains National Park early in the morning for a trek to World’s End, a sheer cliff with breathtaking views, and Baker’s Falls.
- Transfer to Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon and explore this colonial hill station.
- Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 7: Nuwara Eliya to Ella
- Take the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, enjoying one of the most scenic train rides in the world.
- In the afternoon, trek Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
- Overnight in Ella.
Day 8: Ella Rock Trekking
- Spend the day trekking to Ella Rock, a more challenging hike that rewards trekkers with stunning views of the hill country.
- Visit the Nine Arch Bridge in the late afternoon.
- Overnight in Ella.
Day 9: Ella to Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada)
- Transfer to the base of Adam’s Peak. Depending on the time of year and your schedule, you might start the trek late at night or early the next morning to reach the summit for sunrise.
- Overnight near Adam’s Peak.
Day 10: Adam’s Peak to Colombo
- Complete your trek up Adam’s Peak (if you haven’t already done so at sunrise) and return to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest.
- In the afternoon, transfer back to Colombo for your departure or to extend your stay in Sri Lanka.
